SU saves again!

The SU carburetter Company (Burlen Fuel Systems Ltd) has saved the day yet again with their superlative restoration service. A distraught customer asked if the company could look at a set of carburettors from his rare 1929 Bentley 4.5 litre, which had sustained significant fire damage. Upon inspection (see pics) it was clear that the damage was severe, melting several components way beyond repair including the entire suction chambers and brass pistons.

SU took on the challenge and over several weeks completely restored the carburettors back to their former glory, including replacing the suction chambers with correct new versions, replacing the bottom feed float chamber needles and re-cutting the seats, making up new hand made gaskets and completing the job with original dull nickel plating. Both carbs were then fully wet tested and set up on an air flow bench to ensure correct function.
